What is Dead Body Bag?

A dead body bag (also called a cadaver pouch) is a non-porous bag designed to contain a human body, used for the storage and transportation of corpses. Body bags can also be used for the storage of corpses within morgues. Before purpose-made body bags were available, cotton mattress covers were sometimes used, particularly in combat zones during the Second World War. However, the subsequent rubber (and now plastic) body-bag designs are much superior, not least because they prevent leakage of body fluids, which often occurs after someone dies. The dimensions of a body-bag are generally around 36 inches by 90 inches (91cm by 229cm).

Dead body bags are sometimes portrayed in films and television as being made of a heavy black plastic. Lightweight white body bags have since become popular because it is much easier to spot a piece of evidence that may have been jostled from the body in transit on a white background than on a black background. Even so black body-bags are still in general use. Other typical colors include orange, blue, or gray. Regardless of their color, body bags are made of thick plastic and have a full-length zipper on them. Sometimes the zipper runs straight down the middle. Alternatively, the path of the zipper may be J-shaped or D-shaped. Depending on the design, there are sometimes handles (two on each side) to facilitate lifting. It is possible to write information on the plastic surface of a dead body bag using a marker pen and this often happens—either in situ (particularly when a large number of bodies are being collected) or at the mortuary, before being stored in refrigerated cabinets. Alternatively, some designs of body bags have transparent label pockets as an integral part of the design, into which a name-card can be inserted. In any case, a conventional toe tag can easily be tied to one of the lifting handles if required. Dead body bags are not designed to be washed and re-used, with good reason: aside from the obvious hygiene concerns, re-use of body bags could easily contaminate evidence in the case of a suspicious death. As a result, body bags are routinely discarded and incinerated after one use.

The term body bag is sometimes used for fashion or other bags worn on the body (sling body bag or across body bag) and this sense has no connection with either of the two above senses.

How to Decorate a Blank Canvas Bag

A reusable shopping bag saves you the hassle of throwing out numerous plastic bags, but they aren't the most attractive accessories available. A canvas shopping bag has some potential to be attractive, though, because you can dress it up a little by decorating it to match your colorful personality. You can walk around the store proudly toting your bag instead of keeping it tucked below your groceries until it's time to leave. Some companies wholesale blank canvas bags and supply the service of decorating bags by customers. In fact, we could do it by ourselves.
1 Set the canvas bag on its side over a flat, clean surface. Tuck in the sides of your grocery bag to make the side flat and smooth out any wrinkles.
2 Place a stencil of your choice on the side of your grocery bag. Lightly trace the design with a pencil and remove the stencil.
3 Color in the stencil marks with nontoxic fabric paint. Allow the paint to dry fully and then flip the bag over. Place another stencil on the blank side of the bag and trace it with a pencil.
4 Fill in the stencil mark with more paint. Add two or more paint colors to give the designs an extra touch of decoration. Allow the paint to dry fully.
5 Attach decorative buttons to the sides and straps of the bag. Stickers also make a temporary but attractive addition to the canvas bag. It is believed that a canvas bag you made is must more beautiful than plain canvas tote bags cheap.
PS: Alphabet stencils are available at any craft store or you can make your own if you want more control over the font. To make a stencil, simply print out the words or phrase you want to stencil onto your bag. Make sure you print it in the exact size you'd like to place on the bag. Glue or tape the paper to a piece of contact paper and cut out the letters with a sharp craft knife. Be sure to use "bridges" to hold floating white space, such as those found inside the letter O or D. A bridge is a thin strip of paper connecting the white space in the middle of a letter to the stencil so that the letter comes out properly. To create a bridge for the letter O, for example, cut a vertical line at the top center and cut out a C shape around one side of the O. Then cut another vertical line through the top of the letter about half an inch over from your last cut (the cut should be smaller if you're working with a smaller font). Cut out the other half of the O. The white space in the middle of the letter will be held in place by your bridge. Paint in the bridges when your stencil is finished. When the paint is dry, peel the contact paper backing from your letters and stick them to your canvas bag.
